The Co-Op Cafe seeks to provide a respite from poverty and the streets by providing hot meals, showers, and a place of peace and welcome. Most of those who participate in the program are homeless or live in low-income senior housing near the church where the program is held. Coffee, breakfast and lunch are provided. For those who use the showers, clean towels and toiletries are available. Often clothing and underwear are offered as well. Participants are asked to honor the policies and procedures of the program and to treat one another with respect. Many participants meet regularly for conversation and some choose to nap and rest during the Cafe’s hours (see below for hours). Counseling and spiritual support are available on an as requested basis.

Donations to our programs

Trader Joe’s in Hillcrest donated 1200 paper bags to our food distribution! We are so greatful since the plastic bag ban has led to fewer used bag donations.
Specialty Produce has a new program called Waste Not. Food overages from their high-end restaurant customers are donated to non-profit meal programs like ours! Thanks Waste Not!
